This installment of the franchise contained the most disapointing opening of all of them. However it did surpass 4 Bloody Beginnings as it went on.

The characters were slightly more developed, which is very important to any horror film. The kills only work if you somewhat care about them.

Take us back to the isolation and desperation we were given in the beginning of the Wrong Turn series. I guess if I had to point out what was really decent in this movie it would be the downfall of the final two victims.

While sort of predictable, you can't help but feel for them. My wish for the Wrong Turn Franchise, take us back to the present but by all means take the time and be clever about it.

Learn from the success of the original Believable Is Very Scary! I have all of this franchise on DVD and now in Blu-ray and have been somewhat of a fan.

Here's what I noticed after the first viewing: Story: It's never made clear the time frame of this movie.

WT4 was a prequel. After some long thought on this, I believe this is supposed to be after 4 and before 1. All 3 of these mutants are alive and well, so it doesn't make sense that this would be a continuation from 3.

There is a reference from the older man Maynard that they aren't in an institution any longer. Maynard also refers to the 3 hillbilly freaks as "my boys.

We don't know where this man came from or how he got hooked up with these 3. We just know that he ran into them at some point. We do see a computer screen at one point that would indicate that it is , which would put this just months or even weeks before the original Wrong Turn.

The story is very simple. Simply put, a group of victims gather at the sheriff's office one way or another and get picked off one at a time. Once the gang is more or less together at the sheriff's office, the sheriff tells everybody to stay together.

They are trying to split them up to take them out one at a time. From that time forward everyone does their desperate best to try and split up.

And when there's nobody else left that can leave, the sheriff herself wants to leave. This is all supposed to take place during a festival and the trailer leads you to believe that this is all wrapped around this festival, but you never get to see it.

It's only an excuse to have an empty set. The sheriff was expecting a busy night of trouble from this festival and she didn't get one call or visit the entire night.

I was confused as to how these 3 hillbillies could get hurt when smacked around by their 'father,' yet when one is shot in the leg, he doesn't flinch or even bleed.

The one called 'Three finger' looks like he always did, but the other 2 don't resemble themselves from the other movies very much. The kills: Of course creativity is the thing with this and the movie does deliver some unique ways to kill people.

I did feel that this time things had a bit of a "Saw" feel to it. The sex: Three sex scenes. They were very sensual rather than overly graphic.

One had nothing to do with the story. They went 'old school' and used actual animal guts. Locked up in the police station, Billy convinces Carter to release his friends as he owns his drugs and they left as he remained in his cell.

Meanwhile, the cannibals use their truck to pull down a phone pole, taking out service to the town. They then proceed to the power plant, where they kill a guard and shut down the town's electricity.

While most of the townspeople have attended the festival, the teens register at a motel to stay while waiting for their friend to be released by his family's lawyer.

On her way to visit Billy, Cruz is chased by Three Finger who kills her. After Julian leaves the motel back to the police station, Gus is abducted by the cannibals while One Eye attempts to capture Lita but she manages to escape.

Carter sees the cannibals drop Gus, who had his legs crippled. She attempts to save him, but the cannibals run him over with their pick-up truck, killing him.

Carter frees Billy and gives him, Julian and prisoner Mose shotguns to guard the station while she sneaks into an appliance store to communicate radio jockey Teddy asking him to call for backup, but he rudely dismisses her message as a joke.

After Lita manages to reach the police station, Billy and Julian left to search for Cruz despite Carter's objections. They wander the streets and find Cruz's dead body; while trying to get the body back to the station, they encounter the cannibals who captured them and placed in a football pitch where Three Finger kills both of them with a snow blower.

Carter then sends Mose to search for the deputies, but he unknowingly runs over a barbed wire in the road and crashes. He awakens to find himself captured by the cannibals, who burn him alive.

After hearing Mose's accident over the radio, Carter exits the station as Lita unwittingly releases Maynard who stabs her eyes out.
