Da Rick ihm vertraut geht eine Gruppe mit Jesus mit zu Hilltop.Jesus briefly appears in the following episode " Sing Me a Song ", as he and Carl continue towards the Sanctuary. Jesus uses syrup from the supply shipment to mark a trail for them before suggesting they jump out and continue following on foot as "it's not the fall that gets you.
It's fighting it. He is later seen on top of a truck as Carl leaves the Sanctuary. He is then seen in " Hearts Still Beating " where he finds Daryl inside the Sanctuary and helps him escape.
Jesus is later seen watching Daryl and Maggie reunite with their friends and walks beside them as they go to plan for their fight against the Saviors.
They do find several members of the community who come forward to volunteer their help. As the group discusses strategies for beating the Saviors, Rick states they need more help, Jesus tells them he knows a group who can help.
To this end he brings them to the Kingdom, a flourishing community that are also forced to serve the Saviors.
Jesus is shown to be well known there and is on good terms with their leader, King Ezekiel. When Ezekiel refuses to join their fight, Jesus leaves with the others and later returns to the Hilltop with Sasha.
He provides Sasha with a layout of the Sanctuary to help with her plans to kill Negan though he disagrees with her decision. When Gregory mentions that he should show more respect or something may happen with the Saviors constantly coming around, Jesus quickly sees Gregory is threatening him.
Gregory denies it, but also claims that he takes care of his friends and that the two of them are not friends. In "Something They Need" , Jesus is part of the group Rick takes to a community called Oceanside with the intent of stealing their weapons.
Their plan succeeds, but Jesus appears to be conflicted about their actions. She says she does not trust Dwight, but Jesus thinks it may be her only chance to get Sasha back.
Jesus reviews Rick's plan with Maggie and Enid while they watch Judith. Jesus arrives with Maggie leading a convoy of the people of Hilltop just in time to join the fight against the Saviors along with the Kingdom, knocking down the Saviors who were about to kill Rick.
Maggie and Jesus track down a zombified Sasha in the forest and Maggie's eyes fill with tears when Jesus removes her from her misery.
Jesus is present when Rick, Maggie and Ezekiel climb onto a platform and address the crowd as the leaders of their respective communities: Alexandria, Hilltop and The Kingdom, united and ready for all out war.
Jesus appears in the season premiere "Mercy" where he joins the assembled army of survivors led by Rick, Maggie and Ezekiel in an attack on the Sanctuary.
When Negan attempts to divide them by having Gregory order the Hilltoppers to return home, Jesus is unsurprised by the betrayal and confidently states that the Hilltop stands with Maggie.
He later splits off with a group to begin attacking the smaller Savior compounds. In "The Damned" , Jesus leads a group in taking control of the compound.
Unlike Morgan or Tara, who advocate killing all the Saviors, Jesus insists on giving the Saviors a chance to surrender, even when one of them takes advantage of this and tries to kill him.
This results in them taking several prisoners despite Tara's objections, stating that Rick will agree with her. This causes conflict with Morgan who believes they should be killed.
When the prisoners attempt an escape, the disagreement culminates in a heated fight, eventually ending in a draw and Morgan leaving the group in frustration.
Once they arrive at Hilltop, Jesus convinces Maggie to put the prisoners in a pair of trailers under armed guard.
Jesus remains with the Hilltop community in the year and half following the end of the war with the Saviors, assisting Maggie in running the community.
Following Rick's apparent death, in the six years that follow, Maggie decides to leave Hilltop and join with Georgie and her group, leaving Jesus in charge of Hilltop.
Hilltop continues to flourish under Jesus' eye, though struggles with the divide between the Hilltop and Alexandria communities.
He frequently takes secret trips to meet with Aaron, and the two develop a relationship while he trains the latter in martial arts. On one of these trips, they find Rosita wounded nearby, and race her back to Hilltop.
Rosita mentions that Eugene is still out there before passing out. Jesus joins with Daryl and Aaron to see if they can find Eugene, knowing the area they found Rosita.
They discover a herd of walkers behaving strangely but work their way around that to a barn, finding an injured Eugene hiding beneath the floorboards.
Eugene warns them this herd is unique, showing intelligence, and the group soon find the herd bearing down on them, and even Daryl is unable to lure them away.
They try to take shelter in a walled cemetery but the herd manages to follow. Just then, allies arrive to help open the back gates of the cemetery.
Jesus stays back to cover the others' escape, and then turns to take out the last walkers in his way. However, the last walker he faces ducks his blade, turns and grabs him, and then fatally stabs him in the back.
The others race in to kill this walker and others, and discover that Jesus' murderer was a human wearing a mask made from walker skin, a "Whisperer".
In " Adaptation ," Michonne's group escape the cemetery with Jesus' body with Aaron stabbing Jesus in the head to prevent reanimation.
Jesus' body is returned to the Hilltop where the residents bury him. Having been Jesus' second-in-command, Tara is made the new leader of the Hilltop in Jesus' stead.
It takes place some time during the time skip after All Out War. He helps them escape a herd of walkers and guides them through a tunnel, using karate as his main attribute.
The name fits. Noel Murray of Rolling Stone ranked Paul 'Jesus' Rovia 14th in a list of 30 best Walking Dead characters, saying, "his phenomenal abilities to avoid detection and escape any trap have justified his moniker as much as his long hair and beard.
Paul's biggest weakness is that he prefers to be a provider and facilitator, not a leader, which means that in a roundabout way he's allowed his friends at the Hilltop Colony to be governed by the unqualified Gregory.

Before Jesus can continue the interrogation he is joined by Maggie who immediately asks him what he has learnt and he mentions to her that his patrol originally thought Lydia's people to be talking zombies.
Upon hearing this Maggie drags Paul out of the holding cell and orders him to follow her to an unknown location. They stress Carl into questioning what they need to do.
Carl defends Lydia by arguing that if the group treated her better and did not imprison her, that she may open up to them.
Maggie and Jesus begin to question Lydia but she does not respond. Later, after Gregory has poisoned Maggie, Jesus enters the scene and looks horrified at the scene.
Jesus kicks him back and lifts up the weak but still alive Maggie. He sets her down and is prepared to kill Gregory should anything happen to her, but Maggie protests and requests he be jailed instead.
After locking him up, Jesus and Maggie are approached by Oscar , who informs them of the Whisperers' presence. Jesus is later present during Carl and Maggie's argument.
Paul is seen helping Maggie pack for her journey back to the Hilltop, he also decides to stay at Alexandria to help Rick for the war with The Whisperers.
Paul enters Aaron 's bedroom as he is still recovering from his attack. He tells him that Rick sent him to gather troops from the Hilltop for the upcoming war.
Alex bursts in the room and jumps to the assumption that Jesus and Aaron are finally dating. Jesus tells him that it isn't what it looks like, however Alex continues to tease them.
Jesus leaves, telling Arron to get well soon. Eugene realizes there are too many and they will only be able to shave off a hundred or so at a time.
Andrea insists the plan will still work. She climbs down from her horse and starts killing roamers by herself, telling Jesus they will take turns until they have cleared them all.
When Andrea was bitten and goes to Alexandria, Jesus say goodbye to Andrea and he supports Rick alongside the other his friends.
Rick asks Paul for him to go on the trip to Ohio. Paul is very hesitant thinking that someone else is more fit for the job.
He then admits that because of Aaron is the main reason why he doesn't want to go. The next day Rick asks Paul to keep an eye on Dwight.
Later, Paul confesses to Aaron that he loves him. Jesus along with Aaron travel to the Hilltop, unable to make it there they camp out and are encountered by Beta.
Jesus tries to right Beta off but is overwhelm and is about to be killed by Beta. Aaron safes Jesus just in time and kills Beta. Later they find the Whisperer camp and killed all that remained saving a family of three which they design to take them back with them.
Paul and Rick are very good friends. At first, Rick was extremely suspicious of Paul, but after discovering that Paul's description of the Hilltop is legit, Rick slowly comes to trust Paul and Paul is now one of Rick's most trusted allies.
He has proven himself to be an important and prominent member of Rick's group, even moving to Alexandria from the Hilltop in an attempt to assist Rick on the front lines against Negan.
Paul holds a great deal of respect for Rick for being the first of the D. Paul also believes that Rick is the best chance humanity has at rebuilding itself in the post-apocalyptic world and stated that he would even sacrifice his own life in order to help Rick survive, evidenced when Paul fought off over fifteen Saviors alone and unarmed to save Rick and his group from certain death.
Aaron and Paul are currently in a relationship. They are seen together sneaking towards a Savior outpost in Issue when Aaron notes jokingly that Jesus is a bit of a show off.
In Issue Michonne tries to suggest that Aaron pursue a relationship with Jesus. Aaron says that even though Jesus is great, attractive, and kind, he does not see him in that way compared to Eric.
In Issue Jesus is shown to care for Aaron, as evident when he visits Aaron who is recovering from his attack. Aaron says that he never knew Jesus cared, but says that he is indeed getting better.
Alex teases that Jesus and Aaron should be a couple because of how alike they are, Jesus gets flustered and soon leaves, telling Aaron to get better soon.
In Issue , just before they entered the skirmish against the Whisperers, Jesus indicated to Michonne that he was in fact interested in Aaron.
In Issue , Paul says to Rick that he and Aaron are in a relationship. In issue , Jesus and Aaron talk about going to the Hilltop. Aaron is not sure if he feels useful and Jesus says he is pretty useful for him.
Jesus confesses he is in love with him and Aaron is speechless but cleary happy with the statement. Jesus and Maggie have a strong relationship.
Jesus is one of Maggie's most trusted allies at the Hilltop and advises her on tough decisions. When Gregory poisons her, Jesus immediately takes out Gregory and rushes to Maggie's assistant.
In Issue , when Maggie and Rick fight, Jesus tries to his best to separate them. Jesus pulls Maggie back and she snaps out of her anger. Despite not being seen interacting much, they are in good terms, as showed by the fact that Carl was the first to fully trust Paul when being held as prisoner at the Safe-Zone, going as far as questioning his father's actions of capturing Paul and questioning his judgement.
Carl is also the main reason why Paul decided to allow Rick and the group to capture him and think that they had him a prisoner. Carl also has a high trust in Paul's judgement, as he states that he trusts Ezekiel as long as Paul trusts him.
Paul and Kal had been living together at the Hilltop for an unspecified amount of time, this allowed them to form a close friendship and trusting relationship.
This is what caused Paul to choose Kal as the man who would pick the best Hilltop fighters to assist in the upcoming war with Negan.
Paul also shared the entire plan of war against Negan, believing Kal's trust in him to be enough for him to keep in a secret, however, this proved to be a fatal mistake.
After informing Kal of the war plans against Negan, Kal betrays Jesus and tries to inform the Saviors about Paul and Rick's plans of attack. Paul, however, manages to stop him doing so, but, seemingly cuts off his friendship with Kal, and his trust in him.
Kal later tries to apologize, but, Paul brushes off this attempt. It is later shown, however, that Paul has managed to regain his trust in Kal and re-trusts him with the task of recruiting able Hilltop fighters and Kal managed to get over his fear of The Saviors and do as Paul asked.
Although he thinks Gregory is suitable as a leader, he agrees that he is not the ideal man to face confrontations.
Their relationship is shown to have taken a severe blow when it's revealed that Paul went behind his back and rounded up men anyway. They argue and Paul calls him a coward for "bending over backwards to keep your ass out of the line of fire.
Maggie tells Jesus he can't kill him. Jesus watches the hanging of Gregory happen. Alex and Jesus have been very close since his arrival at The Hilltop.
Eventually they both developed romantic feelings for each other. Due to Jesus having to go on supply drops and scouting missions Jesus and Alex's relationship didn't get to grow.
At first, it seemed that Alex was more interested in Jesus causing Aaron and others to assume Jesus was leading him on, but it was later revealed in a letter that Jesus did care about Alex very much, but didn't want to get in the way of him and Wes.
Alex replied to the letter by kissing Jesus on the lips, Jesus was worried about how Alex's boyfriend Wes would feel if he found out about the kiss so they decided to remain friends.
As of Jesus and Alex still have a great friendship. Alex gets the vibe that Jesus has a crush on Aaron and tries setting Jesus up with Aaron by telling them how alike they are.
He tells them they both have giant brass balls. Jesus gets flustered and tells Aaron to get well soon. Alex then replies "I rest my case.
These two haven't been seen interacting much. After Samuel punched Rick at Ethan's funeral, Paul intervened and told everybody that Rick did what had to be done and that Ethan was nothing more than a coward that deserved to die.
Earl and Paul are good friends. Earl is the only one who doesn't call Paul him by his nickname Jesus. Paul takes Maggie to Earl, to make her a weapon.
Showing Paul must think Earl makes good weapons. Paul encounters Dwight again in the Kingdom and is shown to be a little more understanding of Dwight's past than Rick is, but is still suspicious of what Dwight's ultimate plan is.
Paul has a significant role in planning to overthrow The Saviors ' reign of tyranny and kill Negan. Later saying that the reason Negan rules is because he has to satisfy his ego of being in control, expressing his firm belief that he thinks Negan is not only a bad man, but a bad leader.
Paul and Ezekiel are good friends, as he happily greeted Paul when he arrived with Rick. Darius and Paul seems to have a good friendship, as they work together as patrolmen.
During the ambush with The Whisperers, Paul looked shocked when Darius was brutally stabbed by a couple members of The Whisperers.
Jesus told them that they "just killed his friend and won't go down without taking most of them with him", showing that he will avenge Darius' death before he can realize that he's still alive.
After discovering that Darius is still alive, Jesus fights through the undead and The Whisperers to help Darius.
Jesus kills most of the Whisperers that attack him and Darius. Except for Lydia, who says "please don't kill me" so Jesus doesn't and takes her prisoner to the Hilltop.
She then is revealed as a sixteen year old girl. Jesus asked her who is in charge and she doesn't say. When Carl gets out of his cell Jesus and Maggie don't want him talking to Lydia because it "might screw everything up" for them on finding out more about Lydia's people.

The Inheritance. My Funny Valentine. While he isn't the first gay character to be featured on the AMC series, Jesus being gay is still a big deal for television in The "bury your gays" trope became a hot topic last year after The controversially killed off a character named Lexa, shortly after her relationship with another female character was consummated.
While it didn't get nearly as much attention, The Walking Dead's sixth season did the exact same thing with Denise, a gruesome death that isn't even doled out to her in the comics.
In other words, AMC explicitly chose to kill her off this way, and it wasn't long after she developed a relationship with Tara.
The Walking Dead has also struggled to portray its only current gay relationship between Alexandrians Aaron and Eric. While Aaron has been pretty well-developed since he was introduced in season five, Eric's barely appeared on-screen — and when he does, he exists to object to Aaron's decisions when helping the rest of the community, in favor of staying in their home and out of danger.
